Google Chelsea

Let There Be Neon: New York, NY

The Google Chelsea store is Google’s first ever permanent retail space, and the environment focuses primarily on the notions of play and comfort. To achieve this, the team at Let There Be Neon used materials and techniques that encourage curiosity while hiding all elements that would otherwise create visual dissonance.

As the head designer for LTBN on this project, I led the design and detailing of several elements of this project under the guidance of the interior designer (Reddymade) and the Environmental Branding team at Google. Our scope of work included wayfinding, ADA room signage per code, exterior signage, environmental branding and design features, and integrated lighting effects. Beyond design work, I also oversaw the coordination of internal craftsmen, vendors, and installers to complete this project with demanding precision.
